Nomination and Review Process
Nominations should be made by following the links below to the appropriate awards nomination page. There you will be able to fill out the online submission form and submit it electronically, or you may choose to download the PDF file of the form and fax or mail it to us. A subcommittee of the ICAI Advisory Council will review the nominations and select the recipient(s). Note: All awards will be given at the discretion of the awards subcommittee and the director of ICAI. Decisions are not subject to appeal.
Nomination forms and letters not submitted online must arrive at the Center at address below and be postmarked by January 16, 2015.

The Donald McCabe Lifetime Achievement Award
Named in honor of founding ICAI President Dr. Donald McCabe, this award is given to an academic professional (faculty, staff, or scholar) evidencing a lifetime of achievement in the field of academic integrity. Nominations should detail the nominees’ sustained and ongoing contributions to academic integrity, via teaching, research, writing, or institutional change, as well as references to specific achievements and accomplishments in the field. Recipients of this award are recognized at the annual awards banquet.
The Donald McCabe Student of Merit Award
This award also honors Dr. McCabe and is given to a student for promoting the values of academic integrity at their home institution. Nominations should include details of the specific contributions and achievements of the nominees. Recipients of this award will be recognized at the annual awards banquet and provided complimentary conference registration and subsidized travel costs to the conference.
Note: This award is directed toward recipients who would be otherwise be unable to attend the conference because of budgetary constraints. Nominees are ineligible if they would already be attending the conference with other students, faculty, or administrators who receive institutional funds that support their attendance.
The Waldvogel Exemplar of Integrity Award
Named in honor of Jerry Waldvogel, this award is given to an individual who demonstrates courage and perseverance in championing the ideals of academic integrity in the face of opposition and/or adversity. Nominees should be teachers, administrators, staff, or scholars who have made outstanding contributions in promoting or defending the ideals and values of academic integrity. Nominations should include information about the actions and accomplishments of the nominees. Recipients of this award will be recognized at the annual awards banquet.
The Richard L. Storinger Award
Named in honor of Richard Storinger, former dean of Humanities, Language and Arts and professor emeritus of English at Oakton Community College, this award recognizes a student who has demonstrated extraordinary accomplishment, exceptional persistence and/or great courage in promoting academic integrity and “doing the right thing” in spite of considerable challenge or resistance. The nominee must be a student and must be nominated by a member of ICAI. Nominations should include the details of the nominees’ accomplishments. Recipients of this award will be recognized at the annual awards banquet.
The Campus of Integrity Award
This award recognizes a campus-wide (or larger) effort to promote and/or maintain the values of academic integrity. Nominations can be made for individuals or teams who have made extraordinary contributions to the field by upholding scholarly standards and/or improving the quality of education on an institutional or larger scale. The details of both the nominees’ efforts and the results thereof should be included in the nomination. Recipients of this award will be recognized at the annual awards banquet.
